The Dinner Party Tea Towel

Created in collaboration with Third Drawer Down and feminist artist Judy Chicago, this 100% linen tea towel pays homage to pioneering female astronomer Caroline Herschel. The design is inspired by Chicago's icon artwork from The Dinner Party, 1974-79, which comprises a massive ceremonial banquet, arranged on a triangular table with a total of thirty-nine place settings, each commemorating an important woman from history.  Featuring a star, comet filled sky this tea towel honors Caroline Herschel as the first woman to discover a comet. Her amazing achievements enabled generations of women to develop a career in the sciences, a field that was once exclusively reserved for men. This tea towel comes beautifully packaged for easy gift-giving. Crafted from 100% linen. Measures 19 x 26 in.

The de Young museum in San Francisco celebrates pioneering feminist artist Judy Chicago with a retrospective spanning from the 1960s to the present. The exhibition includes around 150 works and related archival material that chart the boundary-pushing path of Chicago whose lifelong fight against the erasure of women's achievement and creativity have changed the course of history.
